Apartment Therapy was started in 2004. We set out to help folks make their apartments beautiful, healthy and organized and along the way we got the idea of opening a store in which we could stock some of the hard to find tools and items that we love and use. A few people said opening a store was a really dumb idea. We took their advice with a grain of salt. Someone else also said we should sell t-shirts. The T-shirts took off first, and quickly sprouted into a collection. We are optimists.

All of our T-shirt designs and artwork that you see are made and modeled by friends and readers on the site. This is only the beginning and we plan to work out the kinks and slowly add more items every season.
